PORTO KATSIKI
THE WORLD FAMOUS WHITE BEACH OF LEFKADA!
It is probably the most photographed and famous beach on the island of Lefkada, and is always in the TOP 10 of all Greek beaches.
It is located in the southwestern part of the island, it can be reached easily by car with a panoramic coastal road and along the road there are many signs indicating it.
Straight away the view of the coast is breathtaking: high white cliffs, intense blue water, fragrant Mediterranean vegetation.
The bay is dominated by the imposing cliffs and the intense turquoise sea, which slopes into the blue as the water becomes deeper. The beach is made of fine white sand, small golden pebbles and rocks in places.
There is a big parking area and few bars, on the beach there are some umbrellas and sunbeds for rent, but we suggest you bring some water and your own equipment.
You can access the beach with a flight of 100 steps going down the cliff, way easier than Egremni beach.

A beach of unforgettable beauty, but very popular in summer. Porto Katsiki is at its best in the early morning or at sunset when the sun plunges into the sea. In high season it is also reached by crowded tourist boats and can be stormed.
However, you can always have a reserved corner by moving away from the area near the staircase where everyone stops.
WHAT TO DO
After the beach, you can enjoy a meal or a mezé in one of the many traditional tavernas overlooking the beach and this stratch of coast, best enjoyed at sunset!
Or visit the old lighthouse on Cape Lefkas, the very southern tip of the island. Wonderful sight of the coast and thes surrounding islands, Ithaki and Kefalonia!
