WHY LEFKADA?
The island of Lefkada (or Lefkas) is a jewel of nature. On the island there are more than 50 beaches with an gorgeous blue and cristal clear water, each one different from the other: long sandy beaches with sheer white cliffs, to small quiet bays looking like pirates coves.
The island is also very green, full of pine forests and olive groves. The picture is completed by the ancient stone villages, the Venetian fortresses and the spectacular views of the other islands of this magical archipelago: the Ionian Islands.
On the island you will live in a relaxed atmosphere, where everyone finds their own rhythm. From April to October you can enjoy the magnificent Mediterranean climate and relax on one of the many quiet beaches sheltered from the wind, or immerse yourself in the alleys full of clubs and shops of Lefkada Town or Nidri, or even hike the mountains among the scents of flowers, pines and olive trees, take an aperitif at sunset in an old mill on the beach, enjoy a coffee in a traditional village under a large plane tree, devote yourself to mountain biking on spectacular routes, or learn windsurfing and kitesurfing on the two beaches blessed by the wind that made the island famous.
Not to forget the tasty mediterranean cuisine: eat traditional Greek food in one of the many seaside taverns: grilled fish or meat, Mediterranean vegetables scented with the island’s organic olive oil, at prices uncomparable to any other European country.
